Phu Kradueng Park
Phu Kradueng national park was established as national park in Thailand in 1962. It is the second national park after Khao Yai national park. The park is located in the province of Loei, in the Northeastern part of Thailand. Whole territory encompassed by is 350 square kilometers /136 square miles/, the distance from Bangkok is about 520 kilometers /325 miles/.
Most popular time to visit Phu Kradueng national park is from late October to January, but if you want to use the parks accommodation you have to book in advance. During the weekends it gets really crowded. The climate is cool throughout the year, with the only rainy weather in October. Most of the territory of the park is covered with tropical rain forest and ever green forest. Also you will come across oak, pines and beech forest at the mountain top plateau. Many bird species, barking deer and even elephants are possible to observe if you are lucky enough. There are bungalows, camping site and restaurant available in the park.
